Our new house included a lot of top notch appliances and features, but it did not have a disposal in the kitchen. Thanks to help from my dad and a one hour project, it now does. 1 more stay-at-home project done. 5,417 left.

Kalena and Brigsby took it upon themselves to spread some dirt, shovel some in buckets, and haul it off. In Brigsby’s words, “just working so hard.”
In years past, April 14 has randomly been a fun travel day for us. From Mexico to Atlanta to Hawaii and more.
Continuing the looks back. 3 years ago today.
A couple years ago when travel was allowed. On this trip to Hawaii, Brigsby learned to walk. This was Day 1.
5 years ago on the San Antonio riverwalk.
Anyone wanting to part with an AppleWatch Series 4 or 5?
Our neighbor said we “looked cute” and had to snap a photo.
4 years ago when leaving the house was a thing people did. San Antonio, TX.
Anyone have a Blackmagic Web Presenter that you’d be willing to part with?
The move is finally complete (minus finishing the unpacking). Today, we spent the morning doing full on yard work for the first time. 2.5 acres of work!
Me and wife close on new house, have guaranteed 4 weeks to move. Simple. Then:
- Family emergency requires 10 days of travel
- 3 of us get sick (not THAT kind of sick)
- Rest of world gets sick
- World shuts down
- Stay at home order
6 days of the 4 weeks left. While we have done most things, this has been quite the stressful stretch.
Kalena, rocking the zero turn, knocked out about 2 acres of mowing today.
Some Sunday fishing at the pond while keeping our distance from the other humans.
After the first case of covid-19, the disease caused by the new strain of coronavirus, was announced in the United States, reports of further infections trickled in slowly. Two months later, that trickle has turned into a steady current.
This is an amazing article with fantastic graphics demonstrating why things like social distancing work.
Just visited our closest WalMart (we are lucky in that it’s always clean and well run). It was out of toilet paper, baby wipes, & cleaning supplies, but it was well stocked in most other things. Was able to easily get milk, juice, fruit, meat, honey, water, diapers, etc.
So why does soap work so well on the Sars-CoV-2, the coronavirus and indeed most viruses? The short story: because the virus is a self-assembled nanoparticle in which the weakest link is the lipid (fatty) bilayer. Soap dissolves the fat membrane and the virus falls apart like a house of cards and dies – or rather, we should say it becomes inactive as viruses aren’t really alive.
I saw this via Daring Fireball and thought it worthy of sharing. Amazing how great regular ole soap is.
I’m a few days late, but if you still use RSS subscriptions (and really, you should), NetNewsWire was rewritten and released. I’ve been using it for a few months, and I absolutely love it.
I got sick & fam followed. With everything going around, I decided to get checked out just in case. It’s just a bad upper respiratory infection. We’ll try to get better by staying home & resting. As we are also supposed to be moving at this time, it’s highly inconvenient.
Does anyone have any experience with installing a home security camera system that is NOT one of the WiFi powered ones (no Nest, Arlo, etc)? I have questions.
These 2 definitely deserve their own day. #internationalwomensday 👩👧
Thinking large and outside the box, ESPN plans to attempt to acquire Al Michaels from NBC Sports for “Monday Night Football,” The Post has learned.
Wait. You can trade for announcers?
I’ve narrowed down my pocket knife collection to the following list. I’m very happy with it and plan to post some photos soon.

- Ontario Rat 2 D2 CF
- Buck 110 S30V (Custom)
- Massdrop x Ferrum Forge Gent

I still want to narrow it down a little more, but I’ve got to decide which ones I can part with.
If you’re wondering, my current favorite is my custom Mini Bugout.
