I had been mulling it for a while, but I’ve been hesitant to take the risk. After seeing Manton successfully migrate, I decided to go for it.
Exporting/Importing all of my past posts from WordPress to micro.blog was surprisingly fast, simple, and straightforward. I had some issues initially with my custom domain, but it appears those were caused by certain settings with CloudFlare who I’m using for DNS management.
It has only been a few days, but so far I’m happy with the decision. At this point, I think it’s only practical for personal blogs, but I could see a future where micro.blog is great for much more.
As a sidenote, I built a simple shortcut in Apple’s new Shortcuts app (currently in beta) that can take a selection from any website and post to my micro.blog using automatically gathered info (author, link, title, etc).
